The cast of Texas Chainsaw Massacre ate weed brownies before filming scenes involving stunt work.
Within an interview with Chelsea Handler on Jimmy Kimmel Live!, Joey revealed she took an edible before the boardwalk scene where her character, Elle, confronts her companion, Lee.
She got the edible from her costar, Taylor Zakhar Perez, who offered it to her. He took one aswell because he previously forget about scenes to shoot.
Joey explained, “I acquired, like, so violently high.” She added, “You understand when youre really high, whatever you learn how to say is Im so high? Thats where I was at.”
Among the scenes in the film required Margot to stand in a doorway fully naked, and she was terrified. “Id arrived at work that morning and I was shaking, so scared, like, I cant do that,'” she said.
A crew member gave her some tequila at 9 a.m. to calm her nerves. Margot said, “I did so three shots and took my clothes off and did the scene and I was fine. It certainly helped stop my hands shaking, and gave me just a little boost of confidence.
3. Gunnar Hansen, who notably portrayed Leatherface, revealed in his memoirs how on top of weed he was during filming Texas Chainsaw Massacre.
In his book, Chain Saw Confidential: HOW EXACTLY WE Made the Worlds Most Notorious Horror Movie, Gunnar shared that the person who owned this home these were filming at grew weed in his field and that the cast and crew used it.
Among the editors even made weed brownies, that they ate before filming the previous few scenes, including dangerous stunt work.
Among the scenes included Bill Spaceman, who Josh was playing, smoking a joint. Josh recounted, “The simple truth is the initial day, the initial shot of the movie, I was rolling a joint. Normally they make fake weed, but nobody explained it had been real weed. THEREFORE I smoked it and for another a long time, I was high and wasn’t said to be.”
In the film, Michael needed to be in a scene where two other characters were performing a drug deal on a roller coaster. Rapaport recounted, “I dont like roller coasters. That they had to convince me to ride it, and I threw up, so we’d to reshoot it seven days later. The next time, they sedated me. Some shots show me smiling because Im drugged out of my mind, plus some show me crying because I honestly thought I would crap.”
Wesley’s costar, Patton Oswalt, recalled Wesley being high often. “Wesley was just fucking crazy in a hilarious way. He wouldnt emerge from his trailer, and he’d smoke weed all day long. That is fine with me, because I had each one of these DVDs that I needed to catch through to. We were in Vancouver, also it was always raining. I kept the entranceway to my trailer available to smell the evening rain while I was watching a movie.”
In the film, Billy played a foul-mouthed alcoholic burglar, and he spent a few days actually drinking as a kind of method acting.
Billy said he was most drunk through the scene where his character includes a drunken meltdown at the mall. Billy started your day by drinking three cups of vodka and cranberry juice, and several Bud Lights. “By enough time I got eventually to that scene there, I barely knew I was in a movie, he said.
The movie was in regards to a craft brewery, so that it included plenty of scenes of the characters drinking beer. Olivia shared that in plenty of those scenes, the beer was actually real.
Olivia said, We were hammered the complete movie since it was real beer, because beer on that set was cheaper than water, because we were shooting in a brewery.
Anna also said, “Throughout a scene where Im handmade cards with Jake (Johnson), they gave me real beer, and I didnt realize it! Therefore each time I lost, I was pounding beer, and I didnt realize it had been real until halfway through the take. I was like, Im super drunk at this time! She added that, “For a few of the movie, it had been fine, also it worked in the scene, therefore it was ideal for them. But I mostly found it certainly unnerving.”
9. Most of the cast of Dazed and Confused was high during filming.
The film’s director, Richard Linklater, said that in the movie, “It wasn’t real marijuana, even though cast does admit to being stoned in a number of scenes, particularly at the end.”
Ben Affleck said that his costars, including Matthew McConaughey, would smoke weed and drink heavily through filming, though he himself didn’t partake.
10. And finally, Denise Richards and Neve Campbell shared margaritas before filming a kissing scene in Wild Things.
In Denise’s memoir, Real Girl NEARBY, Denise recounted that the producers asked her if she was okay with French-kissing Neve for real rather than faking the kiss. Denise agreed, also to incomparable the kiss, she wrote, Neve and I went into her trailer and shared a pitcher of margaritas before we did the scene. Neither folks had ever kissed another girl. … Everyone includes a first-time.
