Friday night, Orange Cassidy teamed with CLOSE FRIENDS to defeat Jay Lethal, Satnam Singh and Sonjay Dutt. Wednesday night on Dynamite, Freshly Squeezed looked to create it 2-0 as he squared off with Lethal in one-on-one competition.

Cassidy frustrated Lethal early but a cerebral setup, culminating with a distraction due to Satnam Singh, allowed the heel to show the tide in his favor. He targeted the leg of his opponent, driving it in to the ring steps and working it over through the commercial break.

Freshley Squeezed mounted a comeback with Stundog Millionaire and added a diving DDT for just two. Unfortunately, his knee failed him on two different occasions, resulting in a Lethal Injection and a victory for the heel.

The Lethal Injection gets the victory for Jay Lethal! Just what a razor close match here on #AEWDynamite Go on TBS at this time!

Following the match, Lethal called out Wardlow and the TNT champion rushed the ring, sending the victor, Dutt and Singh scurrying to the ground.

The match and precisely what followed was only a setup for Wardlow vs. Lethal at Battle of the Belts III even though the latter is an excellent in-ring performer who is able to use Wardlow to help expand develop the big man’s in-ring game, it came at the trouble of a red-hot Cassidy.

The relaxed babyface has been delivering his best work lately and did so again here, even breaking character to essentially put over how damaged his knee was. He could be infinitely more interesting, and over than Lethal.

This feels as though a booking misstep which could have been avoided by putting Lethal within with another person.

The Undisputed Elite returned for the very first time since ahead of AEW and New Japan Pro-Wrestling’s Forbidden Door pay-per-view.

Adam Cole cut a promo where he revealed he could be still not cleared to wrestle, nor is Kyle O’Reilly. He also said they might look to discover the fix with their recent failures and talked up the significance of loyalty.

Which brought him to the Young Bucks. If they’re not likely to select Bobby Fish as their partner, they cannot take part in the upcoming tournament for the Trios Championship, he said.

“What I designed to say is that you two wont be physically with the capacity of doing the tournament,” he stated before the trio attacked and beat down the Bucks. Hangman Page made the save and accepted a handshake from his former friends, seemingly reuniting the Hung Bucks.

What just happened between Adam Cole, #reDRagon and the Young Bucks?! Its #AEWDynamite Go on TBS!

This is an excellent angle and immediately setup a high-profile trios feud that’ll be being among the most hotly anticipated matches the promotion could have at its disposal.

Where this leaves Kenny Omega when he eventually returns remains to be observed however the fans in Columbus were overwhelmingly pleased to see Page and the Bucks reunite.

      Top Moments

    • The handshake, without quite Mega Powers level, was still long-awaited and generated the kind of pop you’ll expect from this type of reunion of friends.
    • AEW Interim World Champion Jon Moxley cut a promo where he said no matter who wins between Wheeler Yuta and Chris Jericho in the primary event since they both know him and both know he’ll fight, scratch and claw to retain his title.

Thunderstorm’s Thunder Rosa and Toni Storm sought to keep their early dominance as team Wednesday night.

To take action, the AEW World Women’s Champion and her Aussie tag partner would need to defeat the devious, dangerous duo of Dr. Britt Baker, DMD and Jamie Hayter, associated with the always-present Rebel.

The heels isolated Rosa early, cutting her faraway from her partner. A hot tag to Storm sparked a comeback but an avalanche Air Raid Crash by Baker drove the fiery babyface to the mat and put her on the defensive.

Intense backwards and forwards action saw Storm uncork a barrage of running hip attacks late, and then eat a short-arm lariat from Hayter, who scored her biggest win up to now.

After Toni Storm’s ping-pong hip attack, Jamie Hayter could obtain the victory in this extremely competitive and physical match! Its #AEWDynamite Go on TBS!

The commentary team put on the win and the way in which where Baker and Hayter coexisted, suggesting there have been obvious hints recently about dissension in the ranks. Apart from some side looks from the latter, there have been no major developments in the disintegration of these partnership.

It really is another one of these manifested stories that has been understated from the get-go but is going to be intensified to aid creative direction.

Having said that, Hayter has been among the breakout stars of the final year and is a lot more than prepared to challenge Thunder Rosa for the title. When there is an intent to split Hayter and Baker, giving her a chance to claim the nice doctor’s title is an excellent start.

The match itself was damn good and the crowd in Columbus accentuated the above-average action having an action-packed match which could have gone in any event. Great stuff also it may not be considered a bad thing to either revisit this or, leastwise, book a four-way later on somewhere.

    • The hot tag to Storm was great and was enhanced by the crowd’s a reaction to everything the ladies were doing compared to that point.
    • There is clear jubilation on the facial skin of Hayter, who have not had the chance to score significant victories of the type so far in her AEW run. This is a signature win and, hopefully, the beginning of something special on her behalf.
