AFC East Betting Preview: Bills will be the class of the conference, not only the division

With the NFL preseason completely swing, Bet FTW is going for a dive into each division to preview how each team stacks up and separate the contenders from pretenders to be able to choose the best futures. This is actually the AFC East.

Lets understand this out just how now: the Buffalo Bills are my pick to win the Super Bowl. Given that thats established, all you read following this will belong to place.

I believe Buffalo includes a chance to come up with the very best record in football. Even though I love the improvements in Miami and I believe New England will stay competitive, I simply dont think the others of the division stacks around another great teams in the AFC.

Buffalo Bills (-220)

Over/Under 11.5 wins? Over -140

Will they make the playoffs? Yes -549

AFC odds: +320 Super Bowl odds: +600

If all goes right, the Bills should easily win this division. They will have the very best quarterback undoubtedly, and the very best defense. And both ought to be improved over last years 11-6 season, with additions like Von Miller, Shaq Lawson and Jamison Crowder. Not merely am Im hammering the over on 11.5 wins, but this team is the best to win the Super Bowl. So those incredibly short odds to help make the playoffs arent even worth touching.

Miami Dolphins (+400)

Over/Under 8.5 wins? Over -140

Will they make the playoffs? No -170

AFC odds: +2000 Super Bowl odds: +4000

I believe the Dolphins have to be able to be excellent, but I also think excellent in a hardcore AFC wont be adequate to help make the playoffs. Unless Tua Tagovailoa morphs into probably the most accurate quarterback in the NFL, Miami will once more barely lose out on the playoffs. Id bet their odds to skip the playoffs above other things.

New England Patriots (+480)

Over/Under 8.5 wins? Under -105

Will they make the playoffs? No -190

AFC odds: +2000 Super Bowl odds: +4000

There simply arent enough wins to bypass in the AFC, and when Im to trust Buffalo and Miami will be the standouts out of this division, which means New England suffers. I’ve questions about how exactly good this offense could be, and I also question if the defense is often as stout since it was a season ago following the departure of a few of its best players. The best bet this is actually the win total under.

NY Jets (+2000)

Over/Under 5.5 wins? Under +130

Will they make the playoffs? No -1205

AFC odds: +7000 Super Bowl odds: +10000

Look, I love what the Jets are doing. Really. But until Zach Wilson requires a step of progress, I dont see a lot more than five wins on the schedule. Maybe he takes that step this season, but I must view it first. He only won three games as a rookie. Besides, the chances on New Yorks under are lovely.

Did I mention just how much I love the Bills? Then, there must be no surprise they dominate all of those other bets I love from the AFC East. Because I believe their odds to really have the NFLs best record are worth a sprinkle, that also gives Sean McDermott an excellent shot at winning Coach of the entire year.

Im much less on top of Josh Allen as MVP, because I dont think hell be asked to accumulate as much yards as a number of the other quarterbacks. However, his mix of passing and rushing touchdowns should give him an excellent shot at Offensive Player of the entire year. Of another teams, I really like Breece Halls likelihood of grabbing Rookie of the entire year.

  • Bills have NFLs best record +450
  • Bills win Super Bowl +600
  • Jets RB Breece Hall wins Offensive Rookie of the entire year +900
  • Bills QB Josh Allen wins Offensive Player of the entire year +2000
  • Bills coach Sean McDermott wins Coach of the entire year +2000
