Albon started sixth after reaching Q3 and benefitting from other drivers getting penalties, and found himself clinging to the points-paying positions through the race.
But Albon held to finish 10th prior to the train of cars behind and score his and Williams’ fourth point of the 2022 season.
“It had been, for me, among the best races I’ve had in Formula 1,” said Albon.
“It felt like this last stint just securing, I couldn’t make any mistakes, if not we were likely to get passed straightaway.
“However the top speed saved us a bit, and I was glad I saw the chequered flag.”
Albon was unfazed by the growing amount of cars in his mirrors, saying: “The more I saw, the higher I felt.

“I was like, guess what happens, the train is forming, that’s nice, which means everyone offers a little bit of pressure themselves. If it is just you and the automobile behind, they are able to afford to drop back, they are able to keep coming back at you, do various things.
“However when there is a train, everyone must follow the speed plus they can’t afford to cool the tyres down or the brakes, whatever it could be.
“When I saw the train, I was like yeah, good, take it on!”
Albon also were able to squeeze in to the points in both Australia and Miami because of unconventional strategies, but he felt that Spa have been “almost a pure race” that serves as a lift for Williams continue.
“Needless to say we had an excellent race in Melbourne, we’d an excellent race in Miami,” Albon said.
“We were on a single strategy as everybody else today, and we couldn’t be as creative because the deg was so high today.
“So that it was among those things where it felt like, maybe it wasn’t my best race, nonetheless it felt like considering what we’d and the pace that people had today, to obtain a point was an extremely good job.
“It’s ideal for the team and for everybody, that is the positivity that people need to undertake with us in to the next few races. It give us good confidence entering races like Monza and these low downforce tracks.
“I believe we can execute a good job.”
