Bandcamp Fridays are again

If you like to aid independent artists by buying their music rather than streaming it, today may be an excellent day to get some albums because Bandcamp Fridays are back. Since March 2020, round the time the COVID-19 pandemic took hold, Bandcamp has often run a day-long event which it generally does not charge commission fees.

Bandcamp hasn’t run the function on a monthly basis and there have been concerns that Bandcamp Fridays might no more happen after Epic Games bought industry earlier this season. But, at the very least for another couple of months, Bandcamp Fridays is a thing again. Bandcamp confirmed it’ll run the function on October 7th, November 4th and December 2nd, along with today.

A lot more than 800,000 music lovers took part in Bandcamp Fridays up to now. Due to the 21 events up to now, the platform says it has paid over $78 million to artists and labels. After payment processor fees, artists and labels bypass 93 percent of a fan’s money. Bandcamp says that on almost every other day, artists and labels bypass 82 percent after it requires a cut.
