Bed Bath & Beyond to permanently close Larkspur and San Leandro locations

Fans of home goods retailer Bed Bath & Beyond will soon have two fewer Bay Area locations to look at if they have a 20% off coupon to burn.

The Larkspur and San Leandro stores were on the companys latest set of permanent closures.

Perhaps known more because of its prolific couponing strategy than because of its actual products, the brand first announced in July 2020 that it could close 200 stores in 2 yrs because of declining sales. Still struggling, Bed Bath & Beyond released a statement just weeks hence saying it could soon close 150 lower-producing stores, lay off a lot more than 20% of its employees and continue steadily to restrategize the business enterprise.

The set of closing stores included eight California locations.

The business announced the termination of two other Bay Area stores in January, section of a shuttering of 35 U.S. stores. The Milpitas location closed, combined with the Campbell location, which confirmed it let go 36 employees on Feb. 26.

Bed Bath & Beyond didn’t return SFGATEs obtain comment by enough time of publication. The precise dates of both new Bay Area closures are unknown, though a worker reached at the San Leandro location said she was told it could be in December.
