Brett Kern wont sign with Bills, might not be finished with Titans

Among the hardest moves the Tennessee Titans had to create within their quest to obtain right down to 53 players was the release of long-time punter Brett Kern, who spent 13 years with the team and was arguably its most beloved player.

It had been a rough turn of events for Kern, who actually looked very good in camp and the preseason. However, he was simply outdone by rookie Ryan Stonehouse, who supplies a more long-term solution at the positioning.

But we would not need seen the final of Kern in Nashville.

In accordance with his dad Cal, who was simply a guest on WLVLs morning show in Buffalo, Kern won’t sign with the Buffalo Bills like we thought.

Not just that however the Titans are apparently hoping Kern could keep himself available in the event things with Stonehouse dont workout.

Punter Brett Kern’s dad, Cal, was just on @wlvl‘s morning show. He said Brett isn’t signing with @BuffaloBills. Titans are encouraging Brett, whom they cut, to remain on the ready in the case their rookie doesn’t cut it. Plus, Brett likes the household life he now has in Tennessee

While this isn’t exactly a vote of confidence for the rookie, this is a smart move by the Titans to at the very least attempt. In the end, theres no telling how Stonehouse will perform in the brighter lights of the standard season.

Kerns need to stay static in Tennessee will be somewhat surprising, as youd assume the 36-year-old wish to make a minumum of one more run at a brilliant Bowl, something hed have a chance to do in Buffalo.

However, its also understandable that Kern doesnt desire to grab and leave Tennessee after calling it home going back 13 years and starting a family group there.

Its likely the Titans will put him on the practice squad, however in that scenario he could (and likely would) be poached by another team. In addition, The Draft Networks Justin Melo reports you can find no plans for Kern to become listed on Tennessees practice squad by at this time.

Kern premiered on Monday following @Titans decision to go forward with undrafted punter Ryan Stonehouse as their starter.

Perhaps Kern will consider just sitting it out and looking forward to the Titans to call him. In any case could be, Kern might not be finished in Nashville in the end.
