Arizona Cardinals star Kyler Murray dismissed concerns about his work ethic, a subject of discussion whenever a notable clause in his five-year, $230.5 million contract was revealed.

“There’s multiple various ways to view film. Needless to say most of us watch film,” he told reporters Thursday. “That doesnt have to be questioned. I won’t let might work ethic and my preparation maintain question. I’ve devote an incomprehensible period of time in what I really do.”

Kyler Murray lists his accolades and accomplishments since senior high school. “Those ideas you can’t accomplish unless you prepare the correct way and take the overall game serious.”

NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport reported Monday that Murray’s deal requires him to perform four hours of “independent study” in weeks once the Cardinals have a casino game scheduled.

Contracts are about give-and-take. One of these from #AZCardinals QB Kyler Murrays $230.5M contract: There’s an addendum that will require 4 hours of independent study per game week. It had been vital that you the team creating a commitment at that level, thus it had been vital that you Murray. pic.twitter.com/VqrkvoBQLJ

Rapoport added that “Murray does four hours of game studying by himself, anyway.”

Still, two questions immediately arose once the clause was made public: If he achieved it already, why did the Cardinals desire to put the “independent study” requirement on paper, and who stood to get from this escaping .?

Murray is understandably upset with the way the clause has been perceived, however the reaction outside Arizona was inevitable. It offers the impression he either wasn’t investing in the task before or was doing the requisite study yet requires a concrete incentive to be able to continue doing this.

The Kyler Murray homework clause is really a colossal blunder by the Cardinals. It creates him look harmful to not studying enough, also it makes them look worse for giving him all that money despite the fact that he wasn’t studying enough.

Still bothered by Kyler Murrays situation. He’s got already had to cope with short jokes his life time. Some say he appears like a toddler on the market running around and today the Cardinals give him a homework clause in his contract. WHAT IN THE READING RAINBOW IS BEING CONDUCTED IN ARIZONA?

Sarah Kezele of 98.7 Arizona Sports pointed to an interview Murray gave to the NY TimesBen Shpigel last December it doesn’t exactly help his case.

“I believe I was blessed with the cognitive skills to just venture out there and just view it before it happens,” he said. “I’m not just one of these guys that will sit there and kill myself watching film. I don’t sit there for 24 hours and breakdown this team and that team watching every game because, in my own head, I see so much.”

Murray is obviously talented, and his capability to improvise sets him aside from a lot of his peers. You imagine you have him pinned behind the type of scrimmage and he pulls a rabbit from the hat.

Nonetheless it is probably not a coincidence his passing yards per game have steadily declined across every month throughout his career. He’s got averaged 286.2 yards across 10 September games to 238.2 yards in December and 196.7 yards in January.

As opposing teams inevitably adapt to Murray, he and the Cardinals aren’t making exactly the same sort of tweaks.

That may be more a reflection of head coach Kliff Kingsbury, whose teams teams in college and the NFL have consistently faded down the stretch.

The Cardinals had to learn what would happen, though, if they included a “please, research your options” condition in the nine-figure deal they signed making use of their franchise quarterback.
