Since training camp this past year, Murray handled ankle issues. It worsened during practice before LA Week 4 Monday night game contrary to the Raiders. Consequently, he spent five weeks on the injured reserve plus some time on the COVID-19/Reserve list.

When on the field, Murray struggled with missed tackles, over-pursuing ball carriers, and struggling to shed blocks and work off contact. He finished up experiencing a fresh position being an edge defender late in the growing season once the team was limited with players at the location, and that has been challenging.

Murray had ankle surgery in early April and opened training camp on the physically struggling to prepare (PUP) list. On Monday, it marked him being cleared ahead off and his first day of practice since undergoing the task.

Murray acknowledged that of that time period in the rehab room by himself while his teammates got focus on the field was difficult. Most of Murrays setbacks recently are fuel to create a direct effect in 2022.

I believe everything happens for grounds, Murray said. Honestly, I must say i do think that precisely what Ive experienced up to this aspect has been preparing me because of this moment.

The Chargers intend to ease him back to football shape, but Murray is confident he decide to play for the growing season opener contrary to the Raiders.

When he could be prepared to take the field completely capacity, Murray begins in base packages, while Drue Tranquill and Kyle Van Noy begins in nickel packages.
