Chris Jericho accused WWE head ofcreative Triple H of moving the target posts with regards to thediscussion about AEW and NXT.
Triple H made headlines Friday whenasked by BT Sport’s Ariel Helwani whether NXT’s evolution toits current “2.0” branding was linked to AEW winning a Wednesdaynight television ratings battle:

Jericho responded on the Inside TheRopes podcast (via Olivia Quinlan of Wrestling Inc.) by pointing out Triple H’s prior comments calling NXT its brand alongside Raw andSmackDown rather than developmental program.
“It’s just changing the narrativeand changing the annals, making me laugh,” Y2J said.”Since when it started, it had been not developmental, it had been athird brand and, ‘It’s not just a sprint, it is a marathon,’ and all theother bulls–t they said.”
Jericho, who’s been among the faces ofAEW since becoming the promotion’s inaugural world champion in 2019,didn’t stop there.
“NXT sucks,” he said. “It’snot an excellent show. They know it. … They probably were punished. That’s probably why Triple H said those ideas, because he’s angrythat we beat them, and he probably is angry that people exist.”
The former WWE Superstar concluded bysaying they’re concerned about their very own product a lot more than anypotential rivalry and referenced AEW President Tony Khan.
“We don’t value WWE,”Jericho said. “We value building our fanbase and buildingour ratings. We shall persist, because I’ll let you know this:My boss includes a many more money than his boss does. Much more.”
While Triple H’s promotion to leadingWWE’s creative team following retirement of Vince McMahon hasdrawn rave reviews, it is also caused renewed friction between theU.S.’ top two wrestling companies.
Last month, Mike Johnson of PWInsiderreported Khan held a talent meeting where he said AEW chief legalofficer Megha Parekh sent a contact to WWE executives StephanieMcMahon and Nick Khan telling them “never to tamper” with AEWwrestlers under contract.
Jericho also referenced the tamperingallegations on social media marketing:
The recent developments suggest there’s legitimate bad blood between your sides, which will make for anentertaining finish to the entire year in the wrestling world.
