Colts to sit Jonathan Taylor for remainder of preseason

The Indianapolis Colts are playing it safe with regards to their star running back as Jonathan Taylor isnt likely to play for the rest of the preseason.

Following first preseason game of the entire year Saturday contrary to the Buffalo Bills, head coach Frank Reich told the media that Taylor isnt likely to suit up for the ultimate two games prior to the regular season starts.

Yeah, thats likely the case. Thats really what Chris (Ballard) and I discussed. I cant note that changing for just about any reason, Reich said Saturday. Well get good work this week contrary to the Lions, hell reach visit a different defensive scheme and players. Well thud that up a bit. So, hell get some good work there and I believe thatll be adequate to obtain him ready.

Whilst getting ready for the growing season is essential, its smart to keep Taylor from more likelihood of injury during meaningless games. His worth to the team is far greater than getting a couple of carries through the preseason games.

So far as all of those other starters, who played just over 25 % during Saturdays game, the program would be to keep them from the second preseason game contrary to the Detroit Lions considering they will have joint practices before the overall game.

Given how physical those practices will be with Dan Campbells squad getting into town, Reich doesnt desire to risk more problems for the starting units.

Its becoming more of typical to help keep the starters from playing way too many snaps through the preseason to avoid injury, and its own improbable well see a lot of Taylor before Week 1 matchup contrary to the Houston Texans rolls around.
