For the fall collection, Talita von Furstenberg and CEO Gabby Hirate were seeking to the seventies, specifically Venice in the 1970s, which not coincidentally is actually where in fact the DVF awards occurred earlier this month. I considered the collection as a vacation to Venice and packing items that dont wrinkle in a suitcase, Talita said during a scheduled appointment in the companys Meatpacking District headquarters. The Venetian inspiration was most apparent in colorful prints inspired by ceilings and tile panels the team discovered throughout a recent visit.
As the DVF team continues to be focusing on their rebranding to interest a younger generation, the signature wrap dress that rose to popularity 50 years back remains an iconic piece within their collections. It has since been reimagined and comes in various lengths, from mini to maxi, and in fabrics like viscose, and the special double-lined jersey that has been used in the initial wrap dresses. We hadnt been using platforms like Shopify before, however now weve been getting all of this data and we finally see what realy works, explained Talita. And were putting this in to the design process so we are able to give women what they would like to wear. A subtle polka dot print with tiny roses, inspired by an archival print from the previous Diane von Fursternberg collection was a highlight. Together with the classic wrap dress, Talita has introduced a fresh wrap jumpsuit, that is quickly learning to be a new DVF signature. The entire desire at DVF would be to make effortless clothes that you placed on and feel confident, Talita explains before adding, and the jumpsuit is quite flattering. Another standout of the collection was the energy suit, that they stated in a bold color scheme that included gem-colored tones such as a deep ruby red and a captivating sapphire blue, modernized in a wrinkle-proof knit fabric. This power suit doesn’t need to be steamed or ironed before heading in to the office or the restaurant that could double being an office and will be easily paired with a simple white tee and flats.
I’d wear the energy suit with [this] couple of Venetian slides I simply got in navy velvet, Talita reveals. A perfectly Gen-Z way method of modern dressing, fitting for strolling the streets of Venice or somewhere else on earth.
