Drew Lock could play 3 quarters, still has shot at QB1 job if he balls out vs. Cowboys

Seattle Seahawks coach Pete Carroll says he doesnt feel any pressure to mention a starting quarterback predicated on any dates. While which may be true, its inescapable that tonights preseason game contrary to the Dallas Cowboys may be the last significant date before that decision needs to be made.

Geno Smith are certain to get the beginning. However, hes only likely to play briefly while Drew Lock gets a lot of the work. In accordance with Jeremy Fowler at ESPN, Lock may play just as much as three quarters.

Seahawks QB Drew Lock set to obtain significant run Friday vs. Dallas, as Pete Carroll said I was told he could play at the very least three quarters. An opportunity to state his case.

Lock needs the reps, having missed last weeks preseason game because of positive COVID-19 test. While their workload has been roughly exactly the same this offseason, Lock has lagged far behind Smith with regards to reps with the starting offense.

Put it another way, tonight is Locks last possiblity to prove he is able to win the work, and apparently its not unthinkable despite Smiths long-held lead.

In accordance with Doug Kyed at Pro Football Focus, Lock still has an opportunity to win your competition if he balls out contrary to the Cowboys.

Smith may be the leader in the clubhouse for the work, in part because of the unfortunate timing of Locks positive COVID test that kept him from starting and playing in Week 2 of the preseason. Lock missing Thursdays game was a killer for his chances, one source said. That said, one source said that when Lock balls out against Dallas, he then still includes a chance. Otherwise, the Seahawks will opt for Smith.

In most cases, the final preseason game of the entire year sees only backups and players on the roster bubble getting significant playing time. That Seattle still comes with an unsettled QB1 situation here is wii sign because of their outlook this year.

If Lock does indeed thrive against Dallas, Carroll could have a hard call to create. However, our best guess is hes already chosen Smith and just isnt saying so in public areas.
