Eddie Alvarez confirms he could be a free of charge agent

Eddie Alvarez is not any longer on the roster at ONE Championship.

The former UFC lightweight champion, who lost his belt to Conor McGregor in the initial mixed fighting techinques main event fight to ever happen inside Madison Square Garden in NY, confirmed on social media marketing early Wednesday he has amicably parted ways with the Singaporean combat sports promotion.

Alvarez fought just four times for the promotion after inking deal following his final UFC fight in July 2018, winning one among those fights with another being overturned to a no-contest following a successful appeal by Alvarez following his fight with Iuri Lapicus where he received illegal blows to the trunk of the top.

His sole win for the promotion came against Eduard Folayang in August 2019. He was also defeated by both Timofey Nastyukhin and Ok Rae Yoon.

There’s by yet no indication where Alvarez may fight next, though he’s got represented both UFC and Bellator on multiple occasions and either could possibly be seen as a fascinating landing spot.
