Ex-Manchester United Star Mikael Silvestre On ‘Warrior’ Casemiro

Former Manchester United star Mikael Silvestre has discussed Casemiro, Manchester United’s new signing from Real Madrid.

The Red Devils were chasing a midfielder all summer with many believing the club would get Barcelona playmaker Frenkie De Jong. However, that didn’t happen plus they were forced to choose alternatives.

Despite being heavily associated with Juventus’ Adrien Rabiot late in the window, the club finished up signing Casemiro – a five-time Champions League winner.

Mikael Silvestre spoke to BettingExpert concerning the transfer: “I dont think he (Casemiro) was the initial choice. Its a late one in the window and the purchase price can be high.

“And that means you need to adjust in the event that you cant get your number 1 or number 2 I dont know which number Casemiro was on the list but also for sure he was on the list.

“Its an excellent signing nevertheless, even though its last second, despite the fact that its a a reaction to the marketplace and due to Tchouameni, and perhaps Camavinga, at Real Madrid.

The 30-year-old made 336 appearances for Real Madrid overall, scoring 31 goals and making 29 assists.

“To possess this player designed for United and pleased to come, and we realize his mentality as a warrior, [hes a] Brazil international.Hes ticking lots of boxes for the club despite being in his 30s.

“At this time, United must perform. When you can build for future years in the central position its good, but getting the connection with Casemiro will undoubtedly be, once he masters the English language, essential.

He finished: “With Eriksen and Bruno in the squad, I believe they are able to complement one another using what Casemiro, Fred, and McTominay are bringing to the team. Its still very positive in my own eyes.”
