On Tuesday, former Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver Marc Boerigter joined the Arrowhead Addict podcast and dished on his favorite quality in Patrick Mahomes.
Patrick Mahomes makes the highlight reels for left-handed and no-look passes. Yet its the people we see more regularly, the mind-bending arm angles which have garnered attention from a minumum of one former player.
On Tuesday afternoon, former Kansas City Chiefs receiver Marc Boerigter joined the Arrowhead Addict Podcast and covered an array of topics, including his infamous99-yard touchdown catch as a rookie, his days in the Canadian football League, how he believes teams will try to defend the new-look Chiefs and much more.
However, possibly the more illuminating answer from Boerigter was when he spoke about Mahomes from the former players perspective. When asked in what probably the most impressive trait of Mahomes is through said lens, Boerigter went right to accuracy.
Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes accuracy may be his best skill
I believe his accuracy, Boerigter said when asked to mention Mahomes best skill. When I say that, its because he throws from all of the crazy arm angles he does. Probably the most impressive throws if you ask me will be the ones where hes throwing around a defensive lineman also it appears like hes likely to throw a standard throwing motion, and it happens sideways.
Its a sidearm shot round the defensive end, leading his receiver by about six yards, also it eventually ends up right in his hands, or right in his chest. Thats the part that I believe is underrated.
While Mahomes accuracy is frequently in the backdrop during conversations about his greatness, its also evident considering his numbers. Through four seasons as Kansas Citys starting quarterback, the former first-round choose of Texas Tech has completed 66.1 percent of his throws, including a career-best 66.3 percent in both 2020 and 21.
