GAF Energy said its new production facility in Georgetown, Texas, will generate a huge selection of renewable energy jobs.

A groundbreaking ceremony happened recently for GAF Energys new 450,000-square foot manufacturing center in Georgetown, Texas. It’ll be GAF Energys second manufacturing unit in the usa, and reportedly the biggest solar roofing manufacturing unit on earth. It is likely to bring a huge selection of jobs to the Georgetown area.
Among the reasons I was attracted to just work at our parent company, Standard Industries, was their commitment to US-based jobs and manufacturing. Were thrilled to be building the continuing future of solar within Georgetown, Texas. The city has welcomed us with open arms and made a decision of where you can build our second facility easy, said Martin DeBono, the president of GAF Energy. Were producing our technologically leading edge Timberline Solar roof within the U.S. because we believe it we can make the very best product for the customers.
GAF Energy manufactures Timberline Solar, a nailable solar shingle that the business says may be the only roof system to directly integrate solar technology into traditional roofing processes and materials. Construction likely to be completed by the summertime of 2023, with full-operation by the finish of 2023.
GAF Energy introduced Timberline Solar in January at the GADGETS Show in NEVADA, where it won three awards, like the Best of Innovation Award for Smart Cities. What sets the Timberline Solar roof aside from competing products (Teslas, for instance) is that the roof system directly integrates solar technology into traditional roofing processes and materials.
Congressman John Carter, Georgetown Mayor Josh Schroeder, along with other community leaders were readily available to celebrate the groundbreaking.
Texas 31st district is growing because its an excellent spot to live and work, now we see more of this growth, said Carter. Im proud that GAF Energy has chosen our great community to call home and create a huge selection of new manufacturing jobs the following in Georgetown. GAF Energy is really a shining exemplory case of the American spirit of innovation to meet up the requirements of today, while concentrating on the near future. I welcome them to my district and appearance forward with their continued success within their new home.
Timberline Solar happens to be manufactured at GAF Energys facility in San Jose, California, that was constructed this past year, following the company moved manufacturing out of South Korea. At that time, the facility was likely to have the ability to produce 50 MW of solar power panels per year, and offer jobs to about 400 people in manufacturing, engineering, and R&D.
