Arenado won this seasons first NL Player of the Week Award in early April, and today he’s got another, bringing his career total to eight.
St. Louis went 6-0 earlier this week behind Arenados .476 average (10-for-21), three homers, eight RBIs and 1.560 OPS. He drove in four runs on Sunday to cap the Cardinals three-game sweep on the Yankees at Busch Stadium.
For Gausman, this marks his first Player of the Week Award. He took home AL honors after tossing a couple of scoreless outings, including eight innings of one-hit ball with 10 strikeouts contrary to the Rays on Tuesday.
Gausman fanned 15 batters in every the other day and quit just seven hits and something walk over 14 innings, lowering his ERA to 2.91 on the entire year.
