Giancarlo Stanton exits Yankees win early, but X-rays negative

Another straight Yankees win Monday didn’t come without another injury concern.

Giancarlo Stanton fouled multiple balls off his foot and ankle in the sixth inning of a 5-2 make an impression on the Twins, even though he stayed in the overall game to complete the at-bat, Aaron Hicks pinch hit for him in the eighth inning.

X-rays were negative, in accordance with Aaron Boone, however the manager was noncommittal about Stanton being back the lineup Tuesday.

Well just see what we got, Boone said.

Boone and a trainer paid a trip to Stanton through the sixth-inning at-bat after he fouled another ball out of play and came up hobbling. He remained in the overall game and grounded out.

I believe it had been when he was planting, it had been just bothering him, Boone said. But nothing more.

Stanton is significantly less than two weeks taken off missing 28 games with left Achilles tendinitis, but Boone said Mondays issues had nothing in connection with that.

Before exiting the overall game, Stanton went 0-for-3 with three groundouts. The initial two were missiles at 104.3 mph and 108.9 mph, but hit right at infielders.

In 10 games since returning from the IL (exclusively as a DH), Stanton is 4-for-38 (.105) with nine strikeouts, five walks no extra-base hits.

To be as powerful as he could be, he is a man that hits the ball on the floor and on a line a whole lot, Boone said. Even though hes keep coming back, so far lots of his hes probably hit about eight to 10 balls, rockets on the floor. Some for hits, two today right at guys. So hes been just a little unlucky by doing so.

He will, due to how his swing is, be considered a bit more line drive, much more one-hopper ground balls and things such as that. It’s been a bit this way since returning, but I believe its more for G just discovering that excellent timing.

Despite Stantons slow start back, the Yankees could ill afford him missing additional time, especially with Anthony Rizzo (back) and DJ LeMahieu (toe) already take down and Andrew Benintendi (broken hamate) set for surgery on Tuesday.
