BALTIMORE A 15-year-old girl was accidentally shot and killed by way of a 9-year-old boy who was simply using a loaded gun, Baltimore police said Sunday.
The lady was playing on her behalf front porch Saturday night in West Baltimores Edmondson Village when she was shot in the top, police said. She was pronounced dead at an area hospital.
The Baltimore Sun reports that police saidthe boy will never be criminally charged due to his age. The boy dropped the gun and fled the scene following the shooting. Police said the gun is subscribed to a woman who’s a member of family of the boy and works being an armed security guard.
On Sunday, girls mother, Nykerah Strawder, identified her as 15-year-old Nykayla Strawder. Police previously said the lady was 14.
I’d like children to become more safe. To place the guns away, eliminate these guns, Strawder said between tears. I lost my daughter; Ill never function as same.
Officers taken care of immediately a written report of a shooting at about 8 p.m. Saturday and found the lady unresponsive.
