Google Pixel foldable and an expert tablet hinted at in Android 13 code

Google has just rolled out the initial Android 13 quarterly platform release beta, and developers have previously uncovered code that hints at a couple of upcoming devices: the rumored Pixel foldable and a fresh Pro tablet (via Android Police).

In a thread on Twitter, developer Kuba Wojciechowski shares screencaps of code that identifies the unfolded and folded states of a tool called Felix. It mentions the cameras that these devices uses aswell, which may add a 64-megapixel (MP) Sony IMX787 primary sensor and a 10.8MP Samsung S5K3J1 telephoto lens on the trunk of the telephone. The device may possibly also house an 8MP Sony IMX355 sensor (exactly the same one utilized by the Pixel 6A) inside and another Samsung S5K3J1 round the front.

Based on the code, the camera setup is really as follows: back of the telephone: IMX787 main, S5K3J1 tele, IMX386 ultrawide. Inner camera is really a IMX355 from the Pixel 6 and the outer sensor on leading is another S5K3J1. It is a fairly comprehensive setup, fitting for reduced device.

The foldables dual rear camera system corroborates claims that these devices could fold horizontally just like the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold. This past year, it appeared as if Google was also focusing on a tool that folds clamshell-style, but animations within Android 12L and an icon in Googles camera app point towards a phone that folds such as a book.

Along with digging up information regarding Googles upcoming foldable, Wojciechowski also spotted references to an expert tablet, called t6pro or tangorpro. Google confirmed that its focusing on an Android-powered tablet at I/O in-may, and developers have since determined that t6 and tangor identifies the device. However now which were seeing the pro moniker mounted on these codenames, it might indicate that Googles focusing on a higher-end version of the tablet, too. As described by 9to5Google, the code doesnt reveal much else beyond the truth that both devices use different rear cameras.

These findings come just a little less than per month from Googles Pixel launch event on October 6th, where well start to see the debut of the Pixel 7, Pixel Watch, and new Nest devices. We arent looking to start to see the rumored tablet or foldable at the function, though the Pixel tablet isnt likely to turn out until 2023, and rumors claim that the Pixel foldable has been delayed until next year.
