Essentially, Google made small changes to the earbuds’ design and in addition added several key features to create them worth the “Pro” moniker. The buds themselves are little more oval shaped compared to the previous models, helping them fit better in to the contours of the ear. They’re IPX4-rated, so they’ll survive sweaty workouts, plus they have onboard controls that enable you to play/pause, skip tracks, adjust the quantity and switch between ANC and transparency mode.

ANC is arguably the largest new feature on the Pixel Buds Pro, and Google did a fairly good job with it. The buds work with a six-core audio chip for active noise cancellation, and an attribute called Silent Seal helps filter a lot more noise and minimize sound leaks. All those things combine to create solid ANC that blocks out noises just like a Television show playing in exactly the same room as you or sounds of individuals talking nearby. Sound quality can be quite good and Google added an attribute called Volume EQ that automatically adjusts tuning once you change the quantity, therefore the highs, miss and lows tend to be more balanced and nuanced at any volume.

The buds’ companion app enables you to do things such as customize touch controls, change sound modes, fine-tune Google Assistant features and sign in on the final known located area of the earbuds. You may also start automatic switching between Android devices in the app, that will can be found in handy by using several devices in tandem. Finally, with regards to battery life, you’ll receive roughly 13 hours from the Pixel Buds Pro when working with ANC or around 20 hours with that feature switched off. Google also added wireless charging capabilities to the buds’ travel case, that is a feature that previous iterations didn’t have. So as the Pixel Buds Pro are Google’s priciest wireless earbuds up to now, they’re also its best sounding, most capable & most versatile buds yet.
