How James Harden bounces back considered biggest question for Sixers

Because the Philadelphia 76ers go to the 2022-23 season, there are always a ton of expectations placed upon them. The Sixers have plenty of talent with this roster led by Joel Embiid and James Harden plus they have a rising star in Tyrese Maxey.

The team also made several solid offseason additions that figure to match effectively around their stars. The team needed more shooting and toughness which is what leading office went and got for the roster.

Despite all that, there’s one huge factor that may decide Philadelphias success: The Beard.

Harden set up solid numbers in 21 games as he averaged 21 points, 10.5 assists, and 7.1 rebounds in 21 games. However, he shot just 40.2% from the ground and 32.6% from deep. His 41% field goal percentage for the entire season was his lowest since his rookie season in 2009-10.

How Harden bounces back may be the biggest question the Sixers need to answer in the 2022-23 season per Bleacher Report because they put it:

Last season, James Harden averaged his fewest points since learning to be a full-time starter in 2011-12. His 41.0 field-goal percentage was his lowest since his rookie year. His 33.0 three-point percentage was the worst of his career.

So, what happened? Was the now-33-year-old finally showing his age and struggling to pay for a burst forever lost to the annals books? Or were these merely the unsightly markings of a hamstring issue that pestered him in elements of days gone by two seasons?

If this is injury-related, then its something he is able to overcome. If hes simply on the decline, then Phillys championship formula may never compute.

There is absolutely no question that Harden may be the key to the Sixers and their success in the upcoming season. Philadelphia knows what they’ll escape Embiid and others, however the Beard must be able to at the very least get near who he was before for the Sixers to access a championship.
