I Dont Know If Shes Aware Shes IN CONTROL: Kristi Noem Says Harris No Help On Border Security

Republican Gov. Kristi Noem of South Dakota slammed Vice President Kamala Harris within the southern border of america Friday.

I dont even understand if shes aware shes in control, because Ive seen no activity from her, Noem told journalist Nicholas Ballasy. Its unfortunate.

President Joe Biden placed Harris responsible for addressing the crisis on the border with Mexico in March. Harris has been criticized by politicians and the media in her role. (RELATED: Kamala Harris APPEARS TO Disappear Entirely Off The Map On Border Issues)

I believe whats happening with the border is totally unique of just illegal immigration, Noem said. It is a national security threat because we dont have a secure border. I when Arizona and Texas requested help, I sent my National Guard. Actually, I was the initial governor to send National Guard, almost every other governors were responding with police, but recognizing the initial situation we’ve down there, it literally is really a war zone.

Noem said she informed nonprofits and nongovernment organizations never to assist illegal entry in to the USA, but noted that border issues didnt just involve migrants.

Its the drugs and human trafficking are devastating for the state, Noem said. I’ve nine Native American tribes, plus they are sovereign governments. I dont have any authority or jurisdiction on the lands. And lots of the drugs and trafficking thats happening that venture out through the entire Midwest are increasingly being funneled through my my tribal reservations. So theres hardly any law and order there. Theres plenty of poverty and spacious spaces. And weve got a few of the cartels which have a presence in South Dakota on our reservation land, and lots of those drugs are moving through those areas.

Noem and Harris didn’t immediately react to requests for comment from the Daily Caller News Foundation.
