Aug 14 (Reuters) – Juventus are always likely to shoot for the Scudetto but will have to be humble and improve on all fronts if Serie A’s most successful side desire to go back to being title winners, manager Massimiliano Allegri said on Sunday.

Allegri took charge of the Turin-based club for the next time this past year and is seeking to improve on last season’s result, their second fourth-placed finish in a row after winning nine consecutive titles.

Juve’s pre-season form, with a 2-0 make an impression on Guadalajara and a 2-2 draw with Barcelona accompanied by a 2-0 defeat by Real Madrid and a shocking 4-0 loss to Atletico Madrid, has cast doubts over their capability to go back to the summit of Italian football.

“This big loss (to Atletico) was a very important thing for us to create us aware, I’ve heard an excessive amount of triumphalism around. Juventus have a duty to attempt to win the title,” Allegri said before their first Serie A clash of the growing season with Sassuolo on Monday.

“You can find 4-5 contenders for the title and we have been among them. We have to work alone, enhance the team from all points of view.

“(Tomorrow) we shall need to suffer like in every matches. It is definitely the effectiveness of winning teams to respect rivals rather than to underestimate them.”

Juve have revamped their squad but will undoubtedly be minus the services of several players, including midfielder Paul Pogba, whose highly anticipated return has been delayed by way of a torn meniscus, and first-choice goalkeeper Wojciech Szczesny.

Forward Federico Chiesa, another standout player who made his proceed to Juve permanent in the close season but missed 1 / 2 of the final campaign after picking right up a torn ligament injury, should go back to playing by January.

“Szcznensy is on a recovery path, Pogba is training and hopefully to possess him back as quickly as possible. We shall have Chiesa back by January at the most recent,” Allegri added.
