Three dogs’ adorable reaction to their favorite human returning home has melted hearts online.
The owner of Tybellas Dog Grooming Spa in Lincolnshire, U.K. shared the video on her TikTok page tybellasdoggroomingspa, where it has since received more than 140,000 views and hundreds of comments.
Captured on a home video camera, they’re not the only pups to gain viral attention. Last month a dog’s reaction to being told off on an at-home pet cam left the internet in hysterics, while another dog’s adorable behavior while home alone melted hearts.
Captured after the owner had been away on a 10-day vacation—leaving the three pups safely in the care of a pet sitter—the video showed the pure excitement of the canines when they were greeted by their favorite person.
While it isn’t always easy to know what is going on in our canine friend’s heads, research published by Psychology Today has revealed that dogs miss us more than we think.
Compiling functional magnetic resonance imaging (fMRI) data that measures the small changes in blood flow that occur with brain activity, researchers worked with a sample of different dogs and found that our pups do have a grasp of time. During a controlled study, dogs greeted their owners with even more excitement when they had been away for 2 hours compared to when their owners had only been away for 30 minutes.
In the caption, the dog owner and pet-groomer wrote: “It’s safe to say they missed me as much as I missed them.”
Earlier this year, another dog showed that it takes more than time for our canine best friends to forget about us when he was reunited with his owners after being lost in Ukraine following the outbreak of conflict in the country. The Siberian Husky was found by Ukrainian serviceman Andriy Smirnov, who the dog’s owners said would “will remain a hero for us for the rest of his life.”
Delighted by the adorable footage of the happy dogs, viewers on TikTok flooded to the comments to share their thoughts and reactions.
Many commenters were in stitches as the dogs simply walked past the man and greeted their mom with huge enthusiasm.
“Hmmm wonder who feeds them, walks them, and loves them?! Exactly the same in my house,” said one commenter.
Another TikTok user wrote: “They couldn’t give a toss about anyone but momma.”
“This would be my dog…I’m his favorite human,” said another reply, while one commenter shared a similar experience and said: “My dog will go around my husband to get to me.”
