The Honda rider was making his MotoGP comeback this weekend at Aragon having been absent since Mays Italian GP carrying out a fourth major operation on the proper arm he badly broke in 2020.
Qualifying 13th, Marquez leapt around sixth at the initial corner in Sundays 23-lap race but suffered an instant on the gas going right through Turn 3 which resulted in championship leader Quartararo crashing in to the back of him.
A bit of Quartararos Yamaha finished up stuck in the rear of Marquezs Honda, which in turn forced him to decelerate as he engaged his ride height device exiting Turn 7 resulting in a collision with LCR Hondas Nakagami.
Quartararo who was simply later involved with a scooter incident on his in the past to the pits escaped with some minor abrasions on his chest, while Nakagami suffered a laceration on two of his fingers.
Its true that I lost the trunk a bit and I closed the gas, nonetheless it wasnt an extremely big moment, Marquez, who retired in pitlane by the end of lap one, said.
The issue was Fabio was super, super close because probably his intention was to overtake me on that change of direction like often we did during the past.
I had a little moment because Enea [Bastianini] and Aleix [Espargaro] were externally.
I was on the nice line and just I had a little moment, like often weve had with a cold tyre.
It had been a race incident, very unlucky Fabio was super close as is normal and I felt the contact.
There started everything because I entered Turn 5, I felt something strange and I say whats going on? And I opened gas entering Turn 6, 7 I felt ok.

On Turn 7 Nakagami overtook me and went wide and when I was inside, already a bit before him I engaged the holeshot.
So when soon when i engaged the holeshot the trunk wheel was locking. I checked the image meticulously and you could visit a piece venturing out from the fairing.
So when Personally i think the locking everything became crazy and the bike when I had that rear lock going on the left side I had no torque.
From then on incident I retired, but I retired not for the Taka incident. I retired for the Fabio incident. But both actions were very unlucky.
Marquez admits he didnt expect his rapid begin from 13th on the grid, but says his intention for the race was never to have an aggressive first lap but merely get to the final.
The mentality was exactly like I say during all of the weekend: make an effort to get kilometres, make an effort to finish the race, he added.
And we didnt obtain the target. I simply did one lap. Its true that the beginning was amazing.
After all, the beginning just the instinct was there and I had an excellent start and just I go outside. When I went of the initial corner I was sixth. It had been something I didnt expect.
And from that time I said ok, we will have. But soon after two corners everything went in the wrong manner.
