Max Verstappen Wins 2022 F1 Dutch Grand Prix; Lewis Hamilton Drops Out of Podium Late


Max Verstappen won his home race at the Dutch Grand Prix to keep his dominance of the 2022 Formula One season.

The Dutch driver started on the pole and finished first before George Russell in Sunday’s race at Zandvoort, Netherlands, much to the delight of the orange-clad fans in attendance.

It represents the fourth straight win for Verstappen, who now has 10 victories in 15 races this year. He continues to create his lead in the driver standings as Red Bull heads toward the constructor’s championship.

Russell finished in second following a controversial strategy with teammate Lewis Hamilton, who fell into fourth place after leading late. Charles Leclerc grabbed the final i’m all over this the podium after an eventful race.

It’s turn into a bigger surprise when Verstappen doesn’t win races this season, as he finished up pulling from another closest competitor by a lot more than four seconds:

Mercedes then attemptedto win by making fewer stops compared to the other teams.

While Verstappen held the lead for a lot of your day, Hamilton remained a high contender with the original one-stop strategy. Following the British star dropped to fourth carrying out a short pit, he drove past Sergio Perez into third position or more to second when Leclerc made his pit stop.

The outlook changed with just over 20 laps remaining after Yuki Tsunoda was struggling to continue, forcing a virtual safety car. The move helped Verstappen pit without losing time, keeping him in the initial position.

Several laps later, a safety car because of Valtteri Bottas’ retirement meant Verstappen could pit for soft tires while Hamilton stayed from mediums with the lead.

Max got a rest, now Lewis got a rest. And most of us watching just lucked into some 2021esque drama. That is likely to be fun.

It had been supposed to develop a true race to the final, but Verstappen showcased his talent immediately by passing Hamilton on the initial turn following the restart.

George Russell, who may have helped Hamilton by blocking Verstappen, instead thought we would change his tires. He later flew past his Mercedes teammate soon after the restart.

Hamilton couldn’t continue and didn’t reach the podium.

It resulted in what became a straightforward win for Verstappen following a nervy middle of the race.

The Formula One season will continue in a few days in Italy as everyone tries to catch the Dutch star in first place.
