McCain Foods on what the Scelta Products acquisition adds innovation and capacity in frozen appetisers

McCain Foods has acquired Scelta Products for an undisclosed sum.

As the financial information on the transaction aren’t being made public Charlie Angelakos, Vice-President of Global External Affairs and Sustainability at McCain Foods, told FoodNavigator: Scelta Products’ global revenue is up to 100m and represents a substantial investment that may fuel McCains growth and expansion in the frozen vegetable appetizer industry.

Outlining the agreement, McCain highlighted the complementary nature of both businesses and suggested that, continue, it expects to capitalise on sales synergies.

Scelta Products’ plant assets will undoubtedly be built-into McCain’s product network, creating increased production capacity to accelerate global prepared appetiser growth throughout European and international markets.

McCain has committed to Scelta Products to create on its legacy and add innovation and capacity to strengthen its position as a worldwide leader in prepared appetisers, grow the sector and broaden its offering to consumers all over the world, Angelakos said.
