Megan Anderson

Former UFC title challenger Megan Anderson isnt retired but isnt thinking about fighting.

The Australian has been out from the ring since her outing against Amanda Nunes at UFC 259 in March 2021. The bout was a long-awaited title shot for the featherweight contender. However, she finished up getting submitted minutes in to the first round.

Following a defeat, the 32-year-olds contract with the UFC expired. She’d later acknowledge that the UFCs insufficient concentrate on womens featherweight was partially because of the split. With that, Anderson was now a free of charge agent and had offers from promotions like the PFL.

However, no cope with the PFL came, and neither did a signing somewhere else. Now, Megan Anderson has given a lifetime career update on The MMA Hour with Ariel Helwani. There, the former Invicta FC champion revealed she’s no intention of fighting any time in the future.

My need to compete in MMA isnt there anymore, and Ive seen it again and again where they fight for the incorrect reasons. Like for the money, and their heart isnt inside it. It is a sport where you cant fight together with your heart not in, as the damage that you can do for the reason that moment could be a lot. For me personally, that desire isnt there anymore and Im just happy doing other activities.

Megan Anderson continued, EASILY obtain it back, I obtain it back. EASILY dont, I dont. Im happy doing all the other activities. The opportunities Ive had I wouldnt have the ability to do easily was still training full-time, like shooting 90 days in Prague for a movie EASILY opt to fight again, whenever that maybe, maybe I’ll. But easily dont, Im okay with how my entire life and career trajectory is certainly going aswell.
