Microsoft Plans to create Activision Blizzard Games to Game Pass

Microsoft announced Thursday it intends to include Activision Blizzard games, like Call of Duty and Overwatch, to theXbox Game Pass library.

“Game Pass empowers developers to create more games to more players, not fewer,” Microsoft’s CEO Phil Spencer wrote in a statement.

Microsoft also announced that games like Call of Duty will still be released on PlayStation consoles.

“We have been focused on making exactly the same version of Call of Duty on PlayStation on a single day the overall game launches elsewhere,” Spencer said. “We shall continue steadily to enable visitors to play with one another across platforms and across devices.”

Sony anticipated this move around inJanuary, citing contractual agreements Microsoft will undoubtedly be bound by.

However, this all hangs on whether Microsoft’s purchase of Activision Blizzard is permitted to proceed through. The purchase has come under scrutiny in the united kingdom. YOUR COMPETITION and Markets Authority said Thursday it’s concerned that the purchase would “substantially lessen competition” in the gaming industry.

“We shall continue to build relationships regulators with a spirit of transparency and openness because they review this acquisition,” Spencer wrote. “We think that an intensive review will show that the mix of Microsoft and Activision Blizzard will benefit the and players.”
