With regards to division races, the National League East and American League Central are providing probably the most intrigue in the house stretch of the growing season.

THE BRAND NEW York Mets have led the NL East for a lot of the growing season, but back-to-back losses to the last-place Washington Nationals keep these things clinging to a one-game lead on the Atlanta Braves, that are on a five-game win streak.

The defending World Series champs are playing a few of their finest baseball at an ideal time, that is creating some increased pressure in NY. It wouldn’t be considered a surprise if the division is set in the penultimate group of the season once the Braves host the Mets from Sept. 30 to Oct. 2.

The Cleveland Guardians once looked to be cruising to an AL Central title, but four straight losses this week allowed the Minnesota Twins to close the gap to a half-game. The Chicago White Sox aren’t too much behind, aswell.

The Twins and Guardians will play a three-game series beginning Friday, that could go quite a distance toward deciding the division. Winning the AL Central will be a drastic change in fortune for Minnesota, which faces an uphill climb in the wild-card race and currently sits five games out from the final spot.

THE BRAND NEW York Yankees are clinging to a five-game lead in the AL East after securing to win Sunday’s series finale on the Tampa Bay Rays. The Yankees had lost six of these last seven games ahead of Sunday’s victory as their disappointing late-season performance continued.

NY has to desire to build some momentum, since it will welcome a hungry Minnesota squad for a four-game series beginning Monday. The Yankees were once thought to be the very best contender in the AL, but that’s clearly no more the case.

That distinction is one of the Houston Astros, who topped the LA Angels on Sunday for his or her fifth win within their last six games. The LA Dodgers have the very best record in the majors and so are favored to represent the NL on the planet Series.

In the wild-card races, the Philadelphia Phillies hold a 2.5-game lead on the Milwaukee Brewers in the NL, as the Baltimore Orioles are 2.5 games behind the Toronto Blue Jays for the ultimate spot in the AL.
