Mom of three children drowned this week in Brooklyn has been arrested and charged with murder within their deaths, the brand new York City Police Department announced on Wednesday.

Mom, Erin Merdy, 30, of Brooklyn was arrested days following the Monday deaths of the kids, who have been identified by the authorities and relatives as Zachary Merdy, 7; Liliana Merdy, 4; and Oliver Bondarev, a few months old.

The authorities received a call right before 2 a.m. on Monday urging them to be sure of Ms. Merdy. A member of family believed that her children were in peril, authorities said.

Officers found Ms. Merdy, who was simply barefoot and soaking wet, about 90 minutes down the road Monday without her children, Kenneth Corey, the principle of department, said at a news conference that morning.

The authorities located the kids two miles away at around 4: 30 a.m. These were unconscious on the shoreline at West 35th Street in Coney Island.

The kids were taken up to Coney Island Hospital, where these were pronounced dead, Chief Corey said.
