A minumum of one NBA Christmas Day matchup for the 2022-23 season is getting into view.

LeBron James and the LA Lakers are anticipated to meet up Luka Doncic and the Dallas Mavericks on Dec. 25 at American Airlines Center, in accordance with NBA insider Marc Stein.

“Changes remain possible prior to the full schedule officially drops in a few days but Christmas games usually hold,” Stein wrote.

The Lakers and Mavericks previously played on Christmas Day in December 2020 in LA. The Purple and Gold continued to win 138-115, led by way of a 28-point performance from Anthony Davis.

The Lakers boasted a starting lineup that included Davis, James, Marc Gasol, Dennis Schrder and Kentavious Caldwell-Pope. Kyle Kuzma and Montrezl Harrell were on the list of players ahead in off the bench.

Are you aware that Mavs, Doncic led the team with 27 points. The team’s starting lineup featured Doncic, Dorian Finney-Smith, Tim Hardaway Jr., Dwight Powell and Josh Richardson.

Both Mavericks and Lakers have become different teams entering the 2022-23 season, plus some believe the Purple and Gold don’t possess what must be done to help make the playoffs this season as currently structured.

The Lakers finished 11th in the Western Conference last season and missed the playoffs for the very first time since 2019. The team struggled with injuries to Davis and James, and Russell Westbrook also didn’t surpass the hype in his first season with the franchise.

Entering the 2022-23 season, the Lakers haven’t had the opportunity to create any significant changes with their roster because of limited salary-cap space with the hefty contracts of James, Davis and Westbrook.

Having said that, they may be set for a similarly disappointing year.

Are you aware that Mavericks, they finished fourth in the Western Conference last season and managed to get completely to the conference finals before falling to the Golden State Warriors.

Even though they lost Jalen Brunson in free agency to the brand new York Knicks, they added Christian Wood and JaVale McGee come early july, revamping the roster for another set you back the finals.

So while there’s certainly intrigue with a potential James-Doncic Christmas Day rematch, it may be a less interesting matchup if the Lakers don’t find yourself showing much improvement from the 2021-22 season.
