Packers coach Matt LaFleur provides context for Jordan Loves 3 interceptions

Green Bay Packers quarterback Jordan Loves preseason opener contrary to the SAN FRANCISCO BAY AREA 49ers has ended. Love played the complete first half, completing 13 out of 24 passes for 176 yards, two touchdowns and three interceptions.

Throwing three interceptions in a casino game, let alone half, is never an excellent sign, but head coach Matt LaFleur essentially absolved Love of any blame on all three turnover plays during halftime.

Basically two were drops and on another one we’d two receivers run the incorrect routes, LaFleur told the Packers TV Network through the broadcast.

The initial pick occurred when Love wanted tight end Tyler Davis on first and goal. Even though pass was just a little high and in double coverage, it did hit Davis right in the hands.

Fourth-round rookie and training camp standout Romeo Doubs was the prospective on the next pick. On third-and-5, Love looked toward the sideline for Doubs, who was simply tightly included in Samuel Womack. Doubs could get his practical the ball, but as he fell to the bottom, Womack could wrestle it away. Initially, it had been ruled a completion, but SAN FRANCISCO BAY AREA challenged the play also it was overturned for an interception. Again, the turnover fell way more on the receiver. Love and Doubs did attach on three different occasions, including a 33-yard touchdown in the initial quarter.

The ultimate picked looked more egregious live. Love attemptedto find Amari Rodgers on the middle on a slant, but his pass didn’t lead the receiver and instead went in to the hands of Womack once more. However, LaFleur revealed that two of Green Bays receivers didn’t run the right route on the play. It really is unclear if Rodgers was one of these. Regardless, it had been a wii throw or decision by Love.

Overall, Loves 2022 preseason debut appeared as if a repeat of what we saw this past year. On some plays, Love shows promise along with his arm talent but on others his accuracy and decision making remain a large question mark.
