Park Beyond Hands-On: A Park Simulator That ENABLES YOU TO Build The Impossible

Discover your ride and joy!

Playing out the fantasy of owning and operating your personal theme park could be a large amount of fun, but why limit you to ultimately merely whats possible when you’re able to create masterpieces of excitement which could never exist in true to life because of technical limitations, the laws of physics, and an inevitable mountain of lawsuits? Thats the central question behind Park Beyond, a style park simulator that blends true-to-life park management simulation with over-the-top and wonderfully absurd rides and roller coasters that quite literally set off the rails. While I enjoyed the highly detailed and painstakingly realistic park management features, it had been in the mishmashing of this realism with purposefully untethered possibilities in my parks attractions that drew me in and kept me laughing throughout my time with it. Thats a deadly combination that hit all of the right notes with me and helped me embrace my inner park-trepreneur.

In plenty of ways, Park Beyond is strictly what youd expect from the theme park simulator. Chiefly, youll get worried with creating a playground for the customers to take pleasure from themselves while turning a profit to create new, exciting attractions. All that is quite detailed and contains an addictive loop(-de-loop) to it. In a single instance, I took out financing to help purchase an extremely ambitious roller coaster, then surely got to watch my drained coffers creep dangerously near bankruptcy when i nervously hoped my enormous gamble would pay back. That stuff may be the bread and butter of any simulation game, but because the name implies, Park Beyond is about mixing it up with things youd never be capable of geting away with in true to life.

Thats where impossification is necessary, an attribute that enables you to store the joy you create in your visitors as a resource which can be allocated to making your park attractions perform feats which could never exist within an actual theme park. For instance, I turned a milquetoast octopus ride into an insane and hilarious kaiju attack that threw park-goers in to the air with reckless abandon. My swinging pirate ship ride, however, broke apart just like the Titanic mid-ride and began swinging the shattered parts in various directions before reassembling itself again by the end. I only surely got to play the initial group of missions and therefore have only seen a fraction of whats possible with impossification, but watching these unhinged creations become more active already has given me far more motivation to cultivate my park than almost every other simulators have already been in a position to do.

I turned a milquetoast octopus ride into an insane and hilarious kaiju attack that threw park-goers in to the air with reckless abandon.

I was also in a position to build roller coasters from scratch, filled with their very own impossification options like ramps that i want to untether the coaster from its rails, cannons that i want to fire my customers in to the air, tunnels which could burrow deep underground and through mountains, and much more. Needless to say, I couldnt just blow off the laws of physics entirely. For instance, I was still likely to use chain lift tracks to drag coasters upwards before sending them careening downwards, and when I launched a rollercoaster from a ramp, I was likely to catch them on the far side of the jump. I also needed to be conscious about how exactly much speed my roller coaster was picking right up, lest I send my paying customers flying off the medial side of a cliff. After all, because Park Beyond deals in the impossible doesnt mean I reach be downright unreasonableright?

Better still, once I was done building my rides, I possibly could put myself in the clients seat and ride my creation to completion. Doing this became my ultimate reward for completing a fascinating roller coaster, or upgrading and impossifying another ride into something unique and over-the-top.

Rides arent the only real things that could possibly be impossified, either. I also played around with impossifying my staff, like when I did so so to 1 of the janitors I hired and he began carrying around a flamethrower to purge the parks trash cans with a cleansing fire. Eco-friendly? No. But an extraordinary spectacle nonetheless.

Up to now, Park Beyond has captured my interest by pairing realistic park management with bigger than life rides. I anticipate devising more fantastical creations when its released next year.
