Peachtree City wants your input on the continuing future of your city

THE TOWN of Peachtree City, in order to arrange for its future, is performing a report to explore opportunities for re-envisioning certain segments of the town as vibrant, walkable places that encourage increased mobility, healthy lifestyles and improved usage of jobs and services. THE TOWN must hear from YOU!

A genuine Livable Centers Initiative (LCI) was completed in 2001, but a whole lot has changed and an update is necessary. LCI plans produce land use, transportation, and economic development recommendations to boost the livability of study areas, and the LCI plan can make Peachtree City qualified to receive implementation funding, particularly for proposed transportation projects.

Public input is crucial to the success of the recommendations. The existing study area is centered round the intersection of Highways 54 and 74, extending east to Lake Peachtree, south to Paschall Road, west to the County line, and north to Aberdeen Parkway. Concept plans have already been developed predicated on initial stakeholder interviews, the Kick-off Meeting held in February, and LCI survey input. Public input on these plans has been gathered NOW!

A Design Workshop event will undoubtedly be held at the town fireworks on September 5, from 5 to 8 p.m. at Drake Field. Search for designated tents. Social distancing, masks, and sanitization will all be asked to keep everyone safe.

A Draft Plan Open House may also be held at City Hall on October 22, from 5 to 9 8 p.m. Please visit both these events to make sure that your voice is heard.

You may even participate virtually at our Virtual Pop-Up at until September 18. This is a fun solution to review the initial draft of the proposed concept plans and offer your input and comments!
