Paddy Pimblett is taking advantage of his time off because the 27-year-old lightweight prospect has ballooned around 200 pounds since his last fight at UFC London.
Pimblett, known for gaining weight among fights, revealed backstage at UFC NORTH PARK he has gained roughly 45 pounds in three weeks.
Im about 200 (pounds), Pimblett said on Saturday (h/t MMA Junkie). I dont know (if its normal). You can say that, you can not say that.
Pimblett plans to take his weight more seriously as he starts fighting higher-ranked opponents, but also for now, he intends to take pleasure from himself whenever you can.
When Im just a little older and I start fighting ranked opponents, I’ll keep my weight down, but also for now, I love putting on just a little chub rub on, he said.
Among the fastest-growing stars in the UFC, Pimblett (3-0 UFC, 19-3 MMA) naturally finds himself the prospective of those attempting to create a reputation off the trunk of his name, recently drawing the ire of Terrance McKinney and Drew Dober.
Without name at heart for his next opponent, Pimblett didnt react to either of these callouts, but he’d like to go back to the UFC in December, preferably in NEVADA.
Everyone really wants to fight me, lad, Pimblett said. Each of them got significantly less than 100,000 followers, and Im at 1.8 million or something. Thats why they would like to fight me. Im also not just a very scary dude. I dont look that intimidating, lad. So people think, Oh, I could beat him. So when you obtain in the cage with me, and youve surely got to solve the puzzle, you cant.
I believe Im likely to fight in Vegas, he added. Thats what Im hoping. Ive seen the card get slated for December 10.
Pimblett last fought at UFC Fight Night 208 where he submitted Syndicate MMAs Jordan Leavitt with a rear-naked choke in the next round. He’s got won all three of his UFC fights via stoppage.
