For President Joe Biden, it had been the crumpets. For his wife, first lady Jill Biden, it had been the tea.
Joe and Jill Biden on Sunday helped honor Queen Elizabeth II by sharing memories of these tea time this past year when she invited them to become listed on her at Windsor Castle, near London.
The president, who said from then on 2021 visit that Elizabeth reminded him of his late mother, recalled Sunday that she kept offering him crumpets. He didn’t refuse.
I kept eating everything she devote front of me, he said. But she was exactly the same personally as her image: decent, honorable, and about service.
The queen, who was simply Britains longest-serving monarch, died earlier this month following a 70-year reign. Biden is among a huge selection of heads of state along with other dignitaries that are in London to wait her state funeral service Monday at Westminster Abbey.

The Bidens paid their respects to the queen on Sunday by planing a trip to Westminster Hall, where she’s been lying in state, to stand prior to the monarchs coffin in the current presence of a large number of mourners who had spent hours upon hours waiting to file past.
Then they signed condolence books at Lancaster House prior to going to Buckingham Palace for a reception hosted by King Charles III along with other royal family for the planet leaders who flew set for the funeral.
After signing the book, Biden said his his heart is out to the royal family as the queens death has left it with a huge hole.
Sometimes you imagine youll never, youll never overcome it, said Biden, who often speaks in very personal terms about loss following death of his first wife and infant daughter, and later a grown-up son. But as Ive told the king, shes likely to be with him every step of just how every minute, every moment. And thats a reassuring notion.
While viewing the coffin on Sunday, the initial lady said, she watched just a little boy dressed up in a Boy Scout uniform can be found in and present the queen a three-finger salute.
After all, it just gave me a lump in my own throat, she said, and showed just how much individuals really loved their queen, regardless of their ages.
