Prince Harry & Meghan Markle Adopt a fresh Rescue Dog

Meghan Markle and Prince Harry simply couldn’t resist consuming Mamma Mia.



The Duke and Duchess of Sussex recently adopted the 7-year-old beagle, who was simply rescued from the breeding facility in Virginia accused of experiencing multiple safety violations.



“The Duchess called myself,” Shannon Keith, an animal rights attorney who runs the Beagle Freedom Project, told the LA Times Aug. 24, revealing that the decision resulted in the couple visiting to the non-profit organization earlier this month.



Although Mia was rescued alongside eight of her newborn puppies, as Shannon explained, the pair fell deeply in love with the beagle mom instantly throughout their visit. “The Duchess is holding Mia and was like, We’re adopting her,'” Keith said. “‘We want ones we are able to help that are older.'”

But before they departed making use of their newfound relative on her behalf new home in Montecito, Keith said Prince Harry noted that Mia couldn’t be with out a keepsake. “He’s exactly like, Well, we can not leave yet because there’s something for the reason that back house she needs,'” Shannon recalled. “‘Does she have a popular toy or something?'”

And after Mia grabbed a fox toy that she had used throughout her trip from the facility to the business in LA, these were set. As Shannon shared, the Duke said, “OK, now we are able to go back home.”

Mia isn’t the initial furry friend to become listed on Meghan and Harry’s family. Before tying the knot, Meghan had been your dog mom after adopting a beagle named Guy and a pup named Bogart from the rescue shelter. In August 2018, soon after the pair wed, they expanded their family by adopting another rescue dog, a black Labrador named Pula.



“Following a life spent having to provide birth to litter after litter of puppies destined for laboratories,” Kitty Block, president and leader of the Humane Society of america told the NY Times Aug. 24. “I could think of forget about fitting happily ever after’ than being adopted by the Duke and Duchess of Sussex.”
