It’s time for What’s-Twitter-Bitching-About-Now — now, Heather Matarazzo‘s character from a vintage Disney movie has been placed directly under the microscope … maybe once and for all reason.

If you are seeing ‘Princess Diaries’ trending this weekend … that is why. Somebody posed a question, writing … “Who’s the worst fictional friend it is possible to think about?” The tweet became popular, also it seems the consensus is … Lilly Moscovitz from the 2001 Anne Hathaway flick.

Apparently, users on the bird app remember this performance well … plus they brought the receipts to back up their argument that Lilly kinda sucks. They could even have a spot!

Folks posted compilations of scenes from ‘TPD,’ revealing plenty of moments between Mia and Lilly — including a notable one from toward the start … where Matarazzo (in character) is telling AH she can’t believe she’s not over her dad’s death from 2 months ago.

Lily from The Princess Diaries without doubt

You can find other scenes which are getting mentioned aswell … including an adequate amount where Lilly is directly hating on Mia’s ascendance as a princess — calling her a sell-out and making her feel guilty for changing into something she no more recognizes … while also attempting to use her at various points on her behalf own private gain.

Indeed, in this hyper-focused context … Lilly/Matarazzo certainly comes off as sorta sy.

Still, it is a little absurd how this convo is unfolding in the feed … some on Twitter appear to be genuinely upset that Lilly was this type of bad friend and contains since been called “toxic” … not supporting to societal standards of a supportive BFF, especially in 2022.

Needless to say, Lilly isn’t real … which movie was made a lot more than 20 years back. Moreover, Mia stacks up for herself — and Lilly apologizes ultimately, completing her arc.

If we’re being honest, the actual fact Lilly’s being discussed at all today speaks to how good of employment Matarazzo did those years back … and how exactly we really can’t have good stuff anymore.
