Aug. 27 (UPI) — Former exercise guru, author, teacher and TV personality Richard Simmons, who has stayed out from the spotlight recently, is thanking his fans because of their support following a documentary about him premiered online this week.
Simmons’ representative told E! News Friday that the 74-year-old star “is indeed gratified by the outpouring of love and good wishes from his fans.”
“He wants them to learn he is successful and sends all his best wishes back again to them.”
A note posted on Simmons’ Facebook page Wednesday said: “Many thanks, everyone, for the kindness and love! Love, Richard.”
TMZ Investigates: What Really Happened to Richard Simmons is available these days on FOX and Hulu. It premiered Monday.
The film chronicles the Sweatin’ to the Oldies icon’s life and career, in addition to his absence from public life since 2014, reportedly because of painful problems with his foot and knees.
