Golden State Warriors superstar StephenCurry and Under Armour have reportedly “nearly locked” downdetails for life endorsement contract that may be worth over$1 billion.

Matt Sullivan of Rolling Stone reported Monday the extension talks with Curry, who’s current deal runs through 2024,come despite some friction between your two-time NBA MVP and UnderArmour founder Kevin Plank since he joined the brand in 2013.

“There wasn’t quite an understandingof what it took to perform a business like this properly,” Curry saidabout the business’s commitment to his signature shoe in the earlystages. “So, yeah, I acquired mad.”

Curry and Plank are also at oddsat times on the founder’s public support of former President DonaldTrump. While Plank told Sullivan there’s “zero beef,” thelongtime Warriors cornerstone doesn’t invariably trust thatassessment.

“Once you represent an organization thatbig, you can’t just fly by the seat of one’s pants,” Curry said.

The eight-time All-Star added there have been discussions about potentially leaving the business in 2018 beforeUnder Armour decided to separate the Curry Brand in a method similar toNike’s Jordan Brand.

“I need not raise my voice toget mad,” Curry says. “That is the best part about any of it.”

The actual fact he’s discussed an eternity dealwith the business suggests the partnership has at the very least improved overthe past four years because the individual brand was established.

Meanwhile, Curry helped lead theWarriors with their fourth championship since 2015 in June, and hecaptured his first Finals MVP Award along the way.

It came after another terrific regularseason where he averaged 25.5 points, 6.3 assists, 5.2 rebounds, 4.5threes and 1.3 steals across 64 appearances.

A lucrative Under Armour extensionwould increase on-court earnings which have already topped $254.7million as he gets prepared to take up a new four-year, $215.4 millioncontract with Golden State, per Spotrac.
