The Android operating-system ‘s been around for a long period, and its utilized by untold thousands of individuals. Naturally, a number of myths have cropped up through the years. Are these common myths actually true?

Why is a myth a myth? A myth is normally a tale or belief that is around for a long period. It gets repeated again and again until people assume its true. Many myths have followed Androids explosion in popularity. Lets debunk a number of them.

Android Phones Are Cheap

Joe Fedewa / How-To Geek

Probably the most common myths about Android is that its cheap. This is said being an insult to Android users, especially from those that use iPhones. Its not only about price; its also a go at the grade of the devices.

The simple truth is some Android phones are really cheap, but most of them aren’t. Android is really a gigantic ecosystem of devices from a variety of companies. Which means theres an Android device at only about every price and quality level.

You cant create a blanket statement like Android phones are cheap. In the event that you compare an iPhone and an Android device with comparable features, the pricing is quite similar. Some Android phones are cheap; some have become premium and expensive. Theres an array of options..

Android Is Filled with Viruses

Another super common myth is that Android devices are plagued with viruses and malware. The truth is, Android is quite much like Windows in this example.

You can find more viruses and malware for Windows in comparison to macOS due to just how many people utilize it. Just as, more viruses and malware are directed at Android due to how popular it really is.

However, exactly like with Windows, its really not just a big concern if you are using Android in a good way. Installing apps from only the Google Play Store and heeding the browser warnings once you find an unsafe website will protect you. You dont need to useantivirus software on Android, if you can if you would like.

When Android was a budding new operating-system, there is a group of apps that became extremely popular: task killers. These apps would close all of the apps which were running in the backdrop. People thought it improved performance and battery life. That myth still persists today.

The simple truth is Android is specifically made to take care of apps in the backdrop. Android automatically manages background tasks and closes things when more resources are essential. You merely need not manage this yourself.

Actually, constantly closing apps might have a negative influence on your phone. Rather than the app sitting in the backdrop looking forward to you, it must completely set up again. That will require more resources than resuming from the paused state.

Android Is MORE DIFFICULT Than iOS

There exists a general sense among a lot of people that iPhones are simple to use and Android devices are for more tech-savvy people. Its considered a far more complex operating-system. I dont think thats true anymore.

iOS on the iPhone certainly started as a simple operating-system, but days past are over. iOS has gained most of the features that was previously found only in Android. Which has caused iOS to become a lot more complex than it was previously.

As stated in other myths, its also not fair to compare the entirety of Android to an individual device, the iPhone. Samsung Galaxy phones could be more difficult than iPhones, but I wouldnt say Google Pixel devices are. All smartphones can perform a lot nowadays.

Android Is Ugly

Lets end with a subjective myth. People generally consider iPhones to be very aesthetically pleasing, both in the program and hardware. Meanwhile, Android is looked down upon to be ugly. Similar to the myth above, I dont think thats true anymore.

I certainly concur that iPhones are smartly designed physically, but iOS has remained largely exactly the same because it launched in 2007. Just look at how little the emoji have changed through the years. Meanwhile, many Android skins have adapted to current design trends.

The truth is, I believe this myth boils down to personalization choices. Its an easy task to make Android look ugly with the personalization options close at hand. You may make the machine font Comic Sans! Android looks the method that you want it to check, whereas iOS mostly looks how Apple wants it to check.

Most of the Android myths which are still around today result from a period when Android and the iPhone were both very new. Things have changed a whole lot since those start, but myths tend to hang in there.
