For sports fans who was raised in the 80s, its impossible to forget Bo Jackson. The person was a supernatural force, excelling in football, baseball and track. Unquestionably, many saw him as a hero. And today they have yet another reason behind that view.
Associated with an unnamed friend and co-contributor, Bo was there to greatly help Uvalde families reeling from the evil wrought upon Robb Elementary School.
Per the AP, Bo now reveals himself as you of thedonors who covered (funeral) costs
A grandfather nearing 60, the dad to three says he couldnt shake this type of heartbreaking situation:
Its not right for parents to bury their kids. Its not right. I understand every family there probably works their butts off merely to do what they do. The final thing they needed was to pay out thousands for a thing that never must have happened.
Bo presented Gov. Greg Abbott with a look for $170,000. At that time, it had been announced being an anonymous donation.
We didnt want media, Bo explains. No-one knew we have there been.
Abbotts office said Jacksons money was quickly directed to cover funeral costs through OneStar, a nonprofit intended to further volunteerism and community service in Texas, including Uvalde relief efforts.
Gov. Greg praises the sports star:
The real spirit of our nation is Americans lifting up each other in times of need and hardship. In a really selfless act, Bo covered all funeral expenses for the victims families so that they could have one less thing to be worried about because they grieved.
Your day of the massacre, Bo tweeted the next:
Americalets please stop all of the nonsense. Please pray for several victims. In the event that you hear something, say something. We arent likely to bury our kids. Im praying for several of the families round the country who’ve lost family members to senseless shootings. This cannot continue.
Asked what he meant by this cannot continue, he avoids politics:
I dont desire to turn this into anything (but) what it really is. I was just trying (with the donation) to place just a little sunshine in someones cloud, an extremely dark cloud. The final thing you need to hear is theres a dynamic shooter in your childs school. Its happening everywhere now.

Recruited by the brand new York Yankees before he was out of senior high school, Jackson decided instead to wait Auburn University.
In school, he led his baseball team to victory; became a football MVP and Sugar Bowl champ; and qualified for the united states Olympic team in track and field.
Going professional in 1986, he played for the Kansas City Royals, the Chicago White Sox and the California Angels. During his amount of time in baseball, he was the 1989 All-Star Game MVP, achieved four 20-home-run seasons, and tied the record for some consecutive at-bat home runs with four
Jackson signedwith the L.A. Raiders in 1987. In his first season, he ran a record-breaking 221-yard rushing performance on Monday Night Football. He spent four seasons in the overall game before a personal injury sidelined Jackson in 1991.
Bolstered by way of a stunning mix of size, strength, speed and agility, the mans highlight reel is similar to no other. He didnt so much evade tacklers as stepped on them. And he could catch a fly ball above the wall and throw someone out in the home.
Back again to Uvalde, Bohas an affinity for the city:
Jackson said he felt an individual connection to the town hes driven through often. Uvalde is a regular stop for a bite to consume or groceries before an extended drive farther west to go to a friends ranch on hunting trips.
It had been his knowledge of the feel of Uvaldes Main Street, leafy town square and individuals hed met on those stops that touched his heart whennews (of the shooting) broke
Still, he doesnt know anyone there:
Uvalde is really a town that sticks in your thoughts. Just the name, Jackson said. I dont know a soul there. It just touched me. Its the kids. Its the kids. Its the kids, Jackson said, pausing before every repetition to assemble himself. If it doesnt frustrate you, somethings wrong with you.
Just how many heroes deserve that title? I really believe Bo Jackson does. Athleticism is something with which he was created. But compassion for others comes by way of a mans searching of their own soul.
And in this age of major league narcissism, that virtue is more valuable than ever before.
