The issue(s) with DeSantis line on his Marthas Vineyard stunt

The good thing is, Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis has tried to guard his Marthas Vineyard stunt. The bad news is, the Republicans line still needs some work. The Washington Post reported:

The Florida governor widely considered a potential 2024 GOP presidential contender doubled down Friday in defending transporting the migrants to Marthas Vineyard, saying these were all going to head to Florida. He said state officials has already established people in Texas for months racking your brains on how migrants are reaching his state after crossing the border and how they could intercept them and divert them. He said it really is difficult to acquire newcomers after they leave the large groups crossing the border and switch to traveling in cars or buses.

A lot of them are going to arrived at Florida, DeSantis said, adding, Our view is you must cope with it at the foundation.

Lets unpack this. Floridas governor couldve apprehended migrants Florida circumstances with a big population from Venezuela along with other Latin American countries but he didnt. Instead, DeSantis, in accordance with their own version of events, dispatched investigators to Texas presumably with public funds where they worked for months.

Evidently, they found migrants who have been intending to arrived at Florida. Put simply, the Republican and his team lured migrants onto an airplane and flew them to Marthas Vineyard since they were considering planing a trip to sunlight State.

Sure, these desperate people didnt have the resources to visit from Texas to Florida, but DeSantis apparently includes a sense of that which was on the minds, so he and his administration arranged for special charter flights to a pleasant town in Massachusetts.

Remember, that is said to be the defense. DeSantis said this on Friday, two days after executing the exploitative stunt, suggesting he previously some time to determine what he wished to tell journalists, which is what he developed.

Meanwhile, DeSantis lieutenant governor, Jeanette Nunez, said its categorically false that the migrants were misled. (She also described individuals on the flights as illegal immigrants, even though these were asylum seekers whod been processed by the Department of Homeland Security.)

Its certainly possible the Florida Republican was telling the reality, but a complete of migrants have told exactly the same story in regards to a woman they defined as Perla who helped lure them onto airplanes with brazen lies about their destination and the huge benefits that awaited them upon their arrival.

The amount of unanswered questions appears to be getting longer, not shorter. That are the investigators DeSantis deployed to Texas? Just how much were they paid? Why achieved it take them months to accomplish their work?

Did the GOP governor contract with Ultimate Air Shuttle? For just how much? Is DeSantis office ready to share that contract with the general public?

We’ve some sense of what Perla appears like by all accounts, shes a tall, blonde woman with light complexion but who did she work with? Just how much was she paid? By whom? Is this a copy of the brochure she helped distribute?

Neither DeSantis nor his office has been wanting to present much in the form of details, that is understandable considering that the Republican administrations stunt might not have already been entirely legal. However the silent treatment wont get this to mess disappear completely.
