1918 – Tris Speaker was suspended for all of those other season due to his assault on umpire Tom Connolly carrying out a dispute in the home plate in Philadelphia.

1926 Emil Levsen of the Cleveland Indians pitched two complete-game victories on the Boston Red Sox, 6-1 and 5-1. He didn’t strike out a batter in either game. The Indians used exactly the same lineup in both games.

1951 The Pittsburgh Pirates defeated the brand new York Giants 2-0, snapping the Giants 16-game winning streak. The streak enabled the Giants to slice the Dodgers 13-game result in six.

2008 Cristian Guzman of the Nationals became the next player going to for the cycle because the franchise moved to Washington, driving in three within an 11-2 rout of the LA Dodgers.

2014 San Franciscos Yusmeiro Petit set a significant league record when he retired his 46th batter in a row, and the Giants beat Colorado 3-1. Petit got the initial eight Colorado hitters, establishing the mark by striking out Charlie Culberson. That broke Mark Buehrles record of 45 straight with the Chicago White Sox in 2009. Petits streak covered eight games, six of these in relief.

2016 Ryan Harlost led Endwell, N.Y., to the tiny League World Series title, striking out eight and limiting South Korea to five hits in six innings in a 2-1 victory. Endwell gave NY its first championship since 1964.

2021 LA Angels pitcher Shohei Otani becomes the initial player in team history to attain 20 stolen bases and hit 40 home runs in a season.
