Tom Brady includes a better resume than arguably anyone in NFL history, but he could be still humble when he could be acknowledged by his peers.

Brady was named the No. 1 player in the league on the NFL Top 100 list that’s voted on by the players, and he discussed the honor during an appearance on his Let’s Go! podcast with Jim Gray.

“It is rather flattering, you understand, if you get recognition from your own peers,” he said.

He also noted that his Tampa Bay Buccaneers teammates around him contributed to the recognition:

“I’ve always felt they are ultimate team awards. After all, I reach throw passes to Mike Evans and Chris Godwin and Rob Gronkowski and, you understand, Julio Jones this season and all of the amazing players I’ve had over an extended time frame. And that means you can’t do anything in football minus the support and the dedication and commitment of one’s teammates, too.

“THEREFORE I always feel just like it is a team, it will continually be a team award. And although you’re voted as individual, you understand, you can’t accomplish anything, especially as quarterback, with out a large amount of incredible individuals who support you on / off the field. Everyone should share for the reason that. To be named in the very best 100 is incredible, you understand, also to be named in the very best 10 is really a dream become a reality. To be named No. 1, I don’t necessarily think that, you know? I believe I have another view of myself than, you understand, everybody else does. I make an effort to still venture out there and prove it each day to myself, and, yeah, I believe I’m a fairly good football player, nevertheless, you know, I’ve gotta go earn it this season.”

Brady calling himself a “very good football player” is fairly the understatement.

In the end, he’s got seven Super Bowl rings, that is a lot more than any single franchise in the NFL. Throw in his five Super Bowl MVPs, three league MVPs and 15 Pro Bowl selections, no quarterback in NFL history can match his set of accomplishments.

This is a testament to Brady’s greatness he is atop this list for the fourth time because it were only available in 2011 despite being 45 yrs . old. He was excellent once more in 2021 while completing 67.5 percent of his passes for a league-best 5,316 yards, 43 touchdowns and 12 interceptions.

There’s some reason behind concern in Tampa Bay after multiple offensive linemen suffered injuries this preseason, but Brady still has a lot of those talented teammates to greatly help propel his numbers in Mike Evans, Chris Godwin, Leonard Fournette, Cameron Brate, Julio Jones and Russell Gage this year.

If he replicates his numbers once more, he will be along with next year’s NFL Network list.
