Watch PCWorld make an effort to fix a remote PC with TeamViewer on Wednesday!

Adam Patrick Murray/IDG
If youre even mildly thinking about computers, youve probably end up being the designated IT repair person for the family and friends. (And when you imagine youve first got it bad, imagine how it goes after they learn you just work at a location called PCWorld!) But if youre an extended distance from whoever needs help, youre typically stuck with the perhaps you have tried turning it on / off again? solution. That’s, if you don’t have a remote access tool like TeamViewer.
Remote access enables you to make an online search to gain access to and control a remote machine just like you were near it. And TeamViewer is among the easiest methods to arrange it, with both user and agent programs on Windows, macOS, iOS, and Android.
So for a practical demonstration, the PCWorld YouTube team made a decision to see how much a specialist in PC repair could do with TeamViewer. Adam smudged a gaming PC six ways from Sunday, and Gordon has just around 30 minutes to repair it with a remote connection, without physically touching the device at all. Oh, and he’s got to accomplish it live, with a streaming audience. No pressure.
Will Gordon have the ability to unravel Adams sinister sabotage with the clock ticking? Will Adam be grateful that Gordon cant strangle him over a remote TeamViewer connection? Youll need to watch live at 4 p.m. Eastern/1 p.m. Pacific on Wednesday to discover. As soon as youre done, dont forget to sign up to the PCWorld YouTube channel.
