Seth Rollins continued to blur thelines between a work and a shoot before his match with Matt Riddleat Saturday’s WWE pay-per-view, Clash at the Castle, in Cardiff, Wales.

Rollins discussed his relationship withRiddle during an interview with BT Sport’s Ariel Helwani (h/t Subhojeet Mukherjee of Ringside News):

“So long as I’ve known the guy, I’venever really liked his attitude. I’ve hardly ever really liked just how hegoes about his business. Most of the ways he type of disrespectedguys way above his pay grade when he was down at NXT, the Booker Ts,the Goldbergs, the Brock Lesnars, I’m exactly like, ‘Dude, pay yourdues, work the right path up, you’re so excellent.’ He’s so ultra-talented inthe ring, exactly like he was in the Octagon. That’s never been hisissue. His issue is his head, getting himself mentally where he needsto have the ability to consistently perform. He’s attempting to talk his way tothe top, that i respect in a few ways. Simultaneously, you’re goingto make it happen, just work the right path up the proper way.”

The two-time WWE champion added hisproblems with Riddle began to boil over throughout a backstage incident involving hiswife, fellow WWE star Becky Lynch, and the former UFC fighter’sex-wife, Lisa Rennie:

“It certainly kicked off, there is anincident along with his now ex-wife, where he was taking her side as shewas, better or worse body-shamingthat’s the only method I could putitmy wife plus some of another girls in the locker room, completely unprovoked. I am aware, as a husband, you need to takeyour wife’s side, nevertheless, you can also zip your trap sometimes. I feltlike him taking her side, I was like, ‘You gotta shut up.’Essentially, the guy opens his mouth when he shouldn’t and saysthings when he shouldn’t, also it gets him in a few warm water. I don’tlike just how he conducts himself.”

Rollins’ feud with Riddle leading up toClash in the Castle is really a prime exemplory case of how things are changing inthe Triple H era of WWE creative.

It’s featured a lot more buildup outsideof the ring, including a parking lot brawl and a heated interviewsegment on Raw. That helps viewers are more engaged in thestoryline when compared to a group of meaningless singles matches that end indisqualification.

Speechless. Absolutely speechless at this time…#WWERaw

When they part of the ring togetherSaturday, everything will probably have a hint of realism to it,particularly if the match becomes overly physical.

Add the actual fact Rollins and Riddle areboth strong in-ring performers, and their encounter includes a chance tosteal the show because of the terrific build.

All told, it’s hard to inform exactly howmuch real-life bad blood exists between your pair, that is a creditto both Raw standouts. And, if there’s lots of legitimate beef, it’sa further credit they are able to still interact to increase the impactfor entertainment value.

It wouldn’t be considered a surprise to see thefeud extend beyond Clash at the Castle given the interest it’s generated up to now.
